Emergency parachute. Integrated survival capability. Built for overwater operations.

The WASP (Water Aircrew Survival Parachute) from Parachute Laboratories is a lightweight, comfortable pilot emergency parachute system designed specifically for aircrew operating over or near water. Unlike a conventional bailout system, the WASP incorporates a dedicated life-raft compartment with the raft tethered directly to the parachute harness, helping keep critical survival equipment with the pilot following an emergency exit.

The system can be configured with a one-person life raft that is deployed and inflated while the pilot is under canopy. The exact life raft model, appearance, configuration, and included survival equipment may vary based on current product availability and mission requirements. All life rafts supplied with the WASP will meet applicable U.S. Coast Guard requirements.

Depending on the selected raft and mission profile, available survival features may include an inflation system, sea anchor, emergency beacon and light storage, ballast or water pockets, weather protection, and other survival equipment. The survival compartment may also be configured for desert-survival equipment, medical supplies, or other mission-specific gear when a life raft is not required.

The WASP can now be configured around Parachute Laboratories' AngelFire 7-cell reserve canopy family, with available canopy sizes ranging from 97 to 300 square feet. Current AngelFire sizes include 97, 114, 125, 150, 160, 180, 200, 228, 245, 280, and 300 square feet, providing a broad range of options for matching pilot weight, aircraft requirements, container size, and mission profile.

Final system weight will vary depending on the selected AngelFire reserve canopy, harness configuration, life raft, survival equipment, and other options.

When Getting Out Is Only the First Part of Surviving

The WASP is designed for pilots and aircrew who may need more than a parachute after leaving the aircraft. By combining emergency parachute capability with integrated survival-equipment support, the system helps keep essential equipment attached to the wearer from bailout through descent, landing, and recovery.

Life-raft images shown are representative only. Actual raft configuration and appearance may vary based on availability. Any life raft supplied with the WASP will meet applicable U.S. Coast Guard requirements.
